Konstantinos Kardakaris was born in Athens. He studied Cinema, Physics (BSc) and Theater Directing at the Drama School of the National Theater of Greece as a scholar. Currently, he is assistant director in a performance by Yannis Moschos, director of the National Theater of Greece. He is also completing his MA in Audiovisual Arts in the Digital Age at the Ionion University. Recently, he participated in a residency at Grotowski Theater Institute. In 2019 he was selected for a full scholarship from the National Centre of Audiovisual Media and Communication (EKOME) to attend a program in Nu Boyana Film Studios in Sofia. He has worked as an assistant director in Athens & Epidaurus Festival, the National Theater of Greece and Onassis Cultural Center and in numerous TV and cinema productions. He was selected to participate in “Transmedia Labworks” of the Greek National Opera and has composed original music for TV and cinema. Since 2019 he curates film program for the Tirana International Film Festival and in 2017 he curated the program “Focus on Belgium” for the National Contemporary Art Museum (EMST). The same year he was the Greek Ambassador of the LUX European Film Prize and was selected in the Jury team of the Venice Days award of the 74th Venice International Film Festival. His first short film “Oxytocin” premiered at the Competition Program of the Athens International Film Festival 2019.
